Accessibility statement for Putnam County Illinois

We want everyone who visits the Putnam County Illinois website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help us make the Putnam County Illinois website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and US Federal Government Section 508 Accessiblity Guidelines.  These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.

• WAVE, a free Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool from WebAIM that analyzes web pages for compliance to accessibility guidelines.

• Lighthouse Accessibility Audit Tool by Google has a browser plugin for Chrome to audit pages individually.

• Functional Accessibility Evaluator evaluates a website or a single web page based on the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines(WCAG) 2.0 Level A and AA requirements.

• Lynx Viewer, a free service for viewing what your web pages would look like in Lynx.
