A Special Meeting of the Putnam County Board was called to order at 12:00 P.M. on October 20, 2022, by Putnam County Board Chairman Charlie Lenkaitis.

Roll call was taken by the Clerk of the County Board with Steven Malavolti, Luke Holly, Anthony Rue, and Charles Lenkaitis answering. Board member Holocker was absent.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

First on the agenda was to discuss the appointment of the new Zoning Officer. Chairman Lenkaitis discussed that having assistance from 2 others during the interview process they have come to a decision. Oct 24, 2022, is the start date for the new zoning officer. Board member Malavolti made the motion to hire Steven Tonioni as our new Zoning Officer starting Oct 24, 2022. Board member Rue seconded the motion and the motion was carried on a board vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, and 1 absent.

Next on the agenda was to discuss the Intergovernmental Agreement between Marshall County and Putnam County regarding the joint employment of a Zoning Administrator. It was discussed that it would be beneficial for Marshall County and Putnam County to split the cost of the Zoning Administrator. Board member Holly made the to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Marshall County and Putnam County regarding the joint employment of a Zoning Administrator. Board member Malavolti seconded the motion and the motion was carried on a board vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, and 1 absent. The Clerk of the County Board was directed to process the Resolution (#2022-12 – Intergovernmental Agreement Between Marshall County and Putnam County regarding joint employment of a Zoning Administrator). 

Board member Holly along with the rest of the board thanked Jim Burger for all the years of service that he had with Putnam County. He did a wonderful job and was greatly appreciated.

At 12:08 P.M., board member Malavolti moved to adjourn the special meeting. Board member Holly seconded the motion and the motion was carried on a board vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, and 1 absent.
