A meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to order at 5:35 P.M. on November 14, 2018, in the Board Room at the Putnam County Courthouse in Hennepin, Illinois by Putnam County Board Chairman Steven Malavolti. 

Roll call was taken with Sheila Haage, William Holmes, Steven Malavolti, and Luke Holly answering.  Board member Duane Calbow was unable to be present for the meeting.  Also present for the meeting was Granville Village Trustee Jim Pettit and two (2) news reporters

This meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to continue to meet with each of the office holders and department heads to review and discuss the Annual Budget / Appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year beginning December 1, 2018 and ending November 30, 2019.  The committee reviewed and discussed the county’s levy funds and the possibility of increasing next year’s levy request for Tort Judgments and Liability.  The committee also reviewed and discussed the budget appropriations and line items for possible budget reductions.  It was decided to reduce the amount budgeted for Appropriation #45 (Economic Development), Line Item #4 (Economic Incentive Rebate) from $500,000 to $250,000 for next fiscal year.         

At 6:30 P.M., the meeting was suspended until Monday, November 19, 2018, at 5:30 P.M.  At that time, the Finance Committee will continue with the review and discussion of the Annual Budget / Appropriation Ordinance for the Fiscal Year beginning December 1, 2018 and ending November 30, 2019.  The next Regular Meeting of the Putnam County Board is scheduled for Monday, December 10, 2018, at 5:30 P.M.
