PUTNAM COUNTY BOARD FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING

MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2019

5:30 P.M.

A meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to order at 5:30 P.M. on March 4, 2019, in the Board Room at the Putnam County Courthouse in Hennepin, Illinois by Putnam County Board Chairman Steven Malavolti.

Roll call was taken by the Clerk of the County Board with Sheila Haage, William Holmes, and Steven Malavolti answering.  Board member Luke Holly arrived after the roll call.  Also present for the meeting was Putnam County Treasurer Kevin Kunkel and members of the news media.

This meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to review and discuss the current General Fund Account balances for the current Fiscal Year (December 1, 2018, thru November 30, 2019).

The Finance Committee has noted from its review that the county will incur expenses and obligations that will exceed the funds available in the General Fund.  The committee discussed borrowing a sufficient amount for the short term to meet the county’s general expenses and obligations.  The committee agreed to direct the State’s Attorney to draft a resolution to allow the county to borrow money from the Highway Federal-Aid Matching Fund.  The committee also agreed to recommend the resolution for board approval at a Special Meeting of the Putnam County Board.

At 5:45 P.M., board member Sheila Haage moved that the meeting to be adjourned.  Board member William Holmes seconded the motion and the motion was carried on a board vote of 4ayes, 0 nays, and 0 absent.  The meeting was adjourned.  The next Regular Meeting of the Putnam County Board is scheduled for Monday, March 11, 2019, at 5:30 P.M.

Respectfully submitted,

DANIEL S. KUHN
Clerk of the Putnam County Board
