PUTNAM COUNTY BOARD FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 2018

5:30 P.M.

A meeting of the Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee was called to order at 5:30 P.M. on June 4, 2018, in the Board Room at the Putnam County Courthouse in Hennepin, Illinois by Putnam County Board Chairman Steven Malavolti.

Roll call was taken by the Clerk of the County Board with Sheila Haage, William Holmes, Steven Malavolti, and Luke Holly answering.  Board member Duane Calbow was absent for the roll call.  Also present for the meeting was Putnam County Treasurer Kevin Kunkel and Deputy County Clerk & Recorder Mary Ann Brouwer.

The Putnam County Board’s Finance Committee met to discuss the current Fiscal Year Budget (December 1, 2017 thru November 30, 2018).  Putnam County Treasurer Kevin Kunkel presented to the committee an update on the current financial situation relative to the county’s General Fund.  Mr. Kunkel informed the board that he has transferred $75,000.00 from the Highway Federal Aid Matching Fund to the General Fund in order to meet the county’s financial obligations.  The committee then discussed various options for reducing General Fund spending.  The committee also discussed the county clerk’s tax rate calculation error which resulted in less tax dollars extended to the Village of Granville.  Mr. Kunkel informed the committee that corrected tax bills will be mailed out to the Village of Granville taxpayers along with a letter explaining the error.  A notice will also be published in the Putnam County Record.       

At 6:45 P.M., board member Sheila Haage moved that the meeting be adjourned.  Board member Luke Holly seconded the motion and motion was carried on a board vote of 3ayes, 0 nays, and 1 absent.  The meeting was adjourned.  The next Regular Meeting of the Putnam County Board is scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2018, at 5:30 P.M.
