Absentee Voting for the General Primary Election

March 18, 2014

 

Putnam County Clerk and Election Authority, Daniel S. Kuhn, would like to announce that absentee voting for the upcoming General Primary Election to be held on March 18, 2014, will commence on Thursday, February 6, 2014. At that time, any registered voter who expects to be absent from the county on March 18th may make application by mail or in person to the county clerk for an official ballot. (10 ILCS 5/19-2)

Anyone wishing to vote absentee by mail may call the county clerk=s office at 925-7129 and request an application. An official ballot will be mailed after the correctly completed, signed application is returned to the county clerk=s office. The last day for the county clerk=s office to mail an absentee ballot is Thursday, March 13, 2014, therefore, correctly completed applications for absentee ballots must be received no later than March 13, 2014.

Anyone wishing to vote absentee in person may stop by the county clerk=s office between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The county clerk=s office will also be open on Saturday, March 15, 2014, for in person absentee voting from 9:00 A.M. until 12 Noon. The last day for in person absentee voting is Monday, March 17, 2014, during regular office hours.
